Primavera P6 EPPM
The enterprise CPM standard: prioritize, plan, manage and execute projects, programs and portfolios, on premise or in the cloud. Multi-user access to the same schedules, several projects opened and scheduled together, adaptable views, and team-member interfaces for collecting status.

P6 and Primavera Cloud are separate products, not two versions of one. They exchange XER files and Oracle sells both; Primavera Cloud is not an upgrade path that retires a P6 estate, which is the assumption worth checking before a migration is scoped.
Primavera Cloud
Owners and delivery teams on one shared plan. Primavera Cloud is the one system that combines the contractual CPM schedule with the field’s task management detail — make-ready boards, digital sticky notes, hand-off sequences, commitment tracking and automatic planned percent complete — so lean practice and the contract programme stop being two separate worlds.
It also carries portfolio management and capital planning (scoring, weighting, scenarios, funding and budget reallocation), resource management with earned value, and a central risk register whose impacts tie straight to schedule activities without a third-party add-on. P6 is not going anywhere and the two work together; migration is a choice, not a requirement.
Risk is handled properly rather than as a register bolted on: qualitative and quantitative analysis across the six steps of the PMI framework, a central risk register and Monte Carlo simulation against the live schedule. Resources are held in one pool of labour, equipment and material with capacity and demand read across every project rather than per file. It runs on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure with Oracle Integration Cloud included.
Primavera Cloud Portfolio & Capital Planning
Deciding which projects to fund, before anyone plans them. Candidate projects are scored against configurable criteria tied to the organisation’s own objectives, then modelled as scenarios — different mixes of projects at different budget levels, with waterline and efficient-frontier optimisation to show where the cut falls. Funds are allocated across budget categories and their consumption tracked against actuals, and role-based resource demand is tested across the whole portfolio rather than one project at a time. None of it touches the approved portfolio until a scenario is adopted. It integrates natively with Unifier, which is what connects the capital plan to what execution actually spends.
Primavera Unifier
Capital program management: cost control, contracts, cash flow, earned value, fund management, and on into maintenance and space management. More than 55 preconfigured business processes mean a deployment can be running in weeks, and multilevel hierarchies let the system follow how the organization is actually structured — projects, programs, portfolios, facilities, assets.

Oracle Aconex
A common data environment for design and construction: unlimited documents with version control, configurable approval workflows, standardized correspondence and forms with a full audit trail, and BIM model coordination — Revit files reviewed inside the platform, on mobile as well as at a desk.

The handover argument matters as much as the delivery one: because the record is complete and structured, the asset information handed to the operator is usable rather than a folder of PDFs. See Asset Information, Handover & Lifecycle Data Management.
The commercial argument underneath it is neutrality: every organisation on the project holds its own private workspace and decides what it shares and when, which is why a platform owned by one party to the contract is a harder sell on a disputed job. Model coordination runs as its own cloud service with clash detection inside the same environment as the documents, and the platform also carries tenders, inspection and test plans, work packages, and three archive options at closeout.
Oracle Aconex for Defense
The Aconex platform delivered under FedRAMP and DISA Impact Level 4 authorisation, for defence agency programmes whose data cannot sit in a commercial tenancy. Functionally it is Aconex; the difference is the hosting and accreditation regime. Relevant to United States government work — other jurisdictions have their own sovereignty requirements and are handled case by case.
Primavera Submittal Exchange
Submittals, RFIs, closeout documents, punch lists, meeting minutes, photographs and change orders exchanged, reviewed and archived in one place, with version control and an audit trail behind each one. Approval routing is automated, with reminders when an item goes overdue, and documents are read in the browser rather than downloaded. There is an Outlook plug-in for the correspondence that still arrives by email, and the project can be exported as an HTML archive organised by category at closeout. Every project participant gets access without an individual licence being bought for them — the reason it survives on projects where a full CDE would be resisted on cost.
Oracle Textura Payment Management
The payment chain between a main contractor and its subcontractors, run as a controlled process rather than a monthly scramble. Pay applications are generated on standard forms, lien waivers and compliance documents are collected with electronic signature, and holds are applied automatically when a document is missing — payment and waiver are exchanged in the same step. Disbursement is electronic, there are more than ninety predefined reports covering contractor, subcontractor, audit and diversity reporting, and the platform connects to Oracle Fusion, NetSuite, JD Edwards and the common construction ERPs. An optional early-payment programme lets subcontractors draw sooner.
The workflow is modelled on North American contract practice — lien waivers, sworn statements, AIA-style applications — so its fit outside that market depends on how closely local practice resembles it.
Oracle Construction and Engineering Intelligence
The analytics layer over the whole portfolio, rebuilt and renamed — it was Construction Intelligence Cloud. Managed ETL and prebuilt data pipelines pull from Primavera P6 EPPM, Primavera Cloud, Unifier and Aconex, so the reporting is not another spreadsheet exercise sitting on top of four systems that disagree.
Two components. Analytics answers questions asked in plain language and builds the visualisation itself, which is what lets a project director interrogate the data without a BI analyst between them and the answer. Advisor for Safety runs predictive models over safety observations, incidents and operational data to flag the projects carrying elevated risk — the point being to act before the incident, not to report it afterwards.

Primavera Analytics
A packaged business intelligence layer over P6 EPPM and Unifier, built on Oracle Business Intelligence and the Primavera Data Warehouse. Prebuilt dashboards and scorecards show performance and trends across the portfolio; drill-down goes from portfolio view to the individual project and then into P6 or Unifier itself to correct the problem. Geospatial maps put project, activity and resource metrics on the map.
It sits a generation behind Construction and Engineering Intelligence and covers a narrower field — P6 EPPM and Unifier, not Aconex or Primavera Cloud. Where an organisation already runs the Primavera Data Warehouse, it stays useful; where the reporting question spans the whole delivery chain, Intelligence is the one that answers it.
Oracle Primavera Portfolio Management (OPPM)
Oracle’s on-premises portfolio product: investments gathered, compared and analysed side by side, with scorecards and configurable measures over a portfolio that is not necessarily made of construction projects at all. It predates the cloud portfolio tools and Oracle still lists it — the practical question when it comes up is whether an organisation is maintaining an existing deployment or starting fresh, because a new capital planning requirement now points at Primavera Cloud instead.
How APP works with Oracle
APP is an Oracle Construction and Engineering partner and plans in Primavera on live projects. Implementation is delivered as a service: EPS and WBS structure, coding standards, calendars, baselines and progress routines, reporting, and the training that makes them survive the first month. The method comes first; the tool serves it.
